Vendor Development (Defence PSUs and Tamil Nadu Defence Corridor)

As per the Public Procurement Policy, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006, all Central Ministries and PSUs will have to ensure that a minimum 20 percent of all their total annual purchases of products or services are from MSMEs.

More than 60% of EEPC India members are from the MSME sector. In order to bridge the gap and to develop an understanding between MSME’s and large scale enterprises regarding the procurement policy of PSU and Pvt. Enterprises, EEPC India is organizing a Vendor Development Meet of Indian PSUs and departments.

Government of India has also notified the Public Procurement Policy with a view to promote manufacturing and production of goods and services in India. A list of 109 items procured by Ordnance Factories and Defence Public Sector Undertakings with the stipulated percentages of local content for eligibility has already been notified by the department. The Vendor Development Meet will include a session with Defence PSUs to know more about the scheme and the opportunities available with them.
